What Sets Us Apart?
Most candles on the market today are made of paraffin wax. When burned or melted, they create highly toxic benzene and toluene (both are known carcinogens). The toxins released from paraffin candles are linked to asthma and lung cancer.
We use 100% soy wax (made from soybeans grown in the US) and clean scents in our products.
There is no law requiring candles to disclose their ingredients on packaging. The label may even say “soy wax blend” but this doesn’t mean they are free of paraffin. They likely also do not use clean ingredients for fragrances.
Our fragrances are free of:
Carcinogens: These are materials known or thought to cause cancer.
Mutagens: Materials that change the DNA of a cell, harming the cell and causing diseases like cancer.
Reproductive toxins: Toxins that adversely affect reproductive organs and increase the risk of birth defects.
Organ toxins: These are toxins that can cause adverse effects or disease within specific bodily organs.
Acute toxins: Toxins that can cause adverse effects from a single exposure. Generally, this would be accidental exposure like spillage or ingestion.
Burning candles is a great way to create some Hygge (pronounced as Hoo-Gah, a Danish word meaning atmosphere of coziness, comfort, and contentment) in your home but it shouldn’t mean your health is at risk.
